RESTORING THE FAMILY
In the Acts of the apostles we see a demonstration of God’s family ministering one to another and reproducing like kind. The Jewish traditions center around the family unit. The weekly Shabbat gatherings, a day set apart for the Lord, was and is foundational to life for God’s people. The father modeled prayer and worship of Adonai for his extended family and freely led them in all aspects of serving the Lord including congregational gatherings and festival preparation and participation. The father played an active role in connecting his family to the God of Israel. When the Holy Spirit fell at the festival of Shavu’ot it was in this fertile soil the seed of the Kingdom were planted. Verses 46-47 of chapter 2 state “Continuing faithfully and with singleness of purpose to meet in the Temple courts daily, and breaking bread in their several homes, they shared their food in joy and simplicity of heart, praising God and having the respect of all the people. And day after day the Lord kept adding to them those who were being saved.” Complete Jewish Bible
What are we doing? Our purpose is to restore the family by restoring the focus of prayer, scripture discussion and worship back to its’ God designed place in our lives – back to the home. As we return to the old wine, aged to perfection and to be desired by all who love God we have a biblical pattern to follow and a natural pattern to follow. As we set our hearts and minds to see the presence of the Messiah Yeshua in every aspect of our lives, we can confidently move forward in knowing the Father’s heart is with His family, His heart is with us – His children. Introducing our family and friends to the Father through His Son Yeshua - Jesus we will participate in fulfilling the great commission. Discipling loved ones in His ways and His appointed times and seasons we will model the family of God for all the world to see that they might know Him and the power of His resurrection.
